SPIETH MEADOWS

In the fall of 1993, a section of land was given to the Foundation by the Spieth family.  This narrow strip of land connects with the parks south and east original borders and continues south to State Route 161. The meadows were initially seeded in grasss and a circle drive off Rt 161 was cut in. Several trees and shrubs have since been planted with the emphasis on native species such as sycamores, oaks, hickories and catalpas. In the summer of 2002, a small pond was created to the north of the circle drive.

The Spieth Meadow Entrance is at 2160 Illinois State Route 161 East.
